Principal’s Report
Welcome to week eight of a productive and busy term. We hope you are enjoying the lovely weather to spend some time outside with your family.
Students have been busy completing work for the term and teachers are finalizing reports and Individual Language Plan reports to be sent home to parents at the end of term. Work Sample Files will be given to students in the last week of school and we hope you enjoy reading through them on the holidays.
Our exiting students are having an exciting two weeks with Transition visits. They have lots of stories about the friends they are making and the new experiences in their home schools.
Induction meetings for new parents are completed across all sites and we look forward to welcoming new families and students to our school next year.
The Book Awards will take place over the next two weeks and we look forward to seeing our PLDS families attend. Please check the events in this newsletter for the dates and times.
Students at our Bungaree campus participated well in the fun run last week as a school fundraiser. We said a fond farewell to Mrs Telford at Pinjarra and wish her every happiness as she take maternity leave. Students at RLPS campus in D2 have been writing amazing stories and had an official book launch last week. At Mandurah the students have been learning about transport and have created a class mural.
PLDS teachers will have a productive and informative day tomorrow analysing student data at the Whole School Review. The purpose of the day is to look at student data and plan effectively for 2018. We will also review the data from surveys to parents and teachers which provide us with valuable information about adjustments and improvements for 2018.
The final meeting of the School Board was held last week. We would like to thank the Board Chair Michelle Williams and Board members for their contribution to our school in our third year as an Independent Public School. Next year the Board will be calling for nominations of parent and community members.
The final P & C meeting was also held last night. I would like to sincerely thank all member of the P & C for their tireless work in volunteering and fundraising for our RLPS campus.
A final reminder about the annual School Picnic this Friday 1st December. We look forward to families and students coming along to share a day that is always an enjoyable way to finalise the school year.

Bungaree Campus
Last week, Bungaree Primary School held a School Fun Run as a major fundraiser for Term 4.
Students were asked to collect money from sponsors and walk or run as many laps of the school oval as part of the incentive to win prizes for their participation.
It was a great effort from all our students who participated and most of our students completed a maximum of twenty laps each! Well Done! It was a very warm day out so we were all spoilt with ice blocks to finish the day.

As the Kindergarten and Pre- Primary students in room 28 said farewells to their lovely Mrs Telford who commenced maternity leave. They also welcomed Ms Turner who will be their teacher until the end of the year. The staff and students wish both teachers well with their new adventures.
Students in all classes completed a very successful fortnight of swimming lessons at the Murray Districts Aquatic Centre. Congratulations to all students who listened carefully and were respectful to their instructors enabling them to receive a certificate. Students are to be commended and congratulated on their outstanding behaviour during swimming lessons.

D2
We love stories in D2, we especially like stories that make us laugh! So we decided to take some inspiration from one of our favourite Authors Mo Williems. We used his story ‘Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus’ as a mentor text to create our own. We had such a fun time writing our stories and we all came up with some very funny stories! We celebrated our achievements with a book launch that was attended by our families, teachers and friends.
School banking - RLPS
This Friday 1st November will be the LAST time for school banking 2017.
Any future prizes will be handed out next year.
We would like to thank everyone for their continued support.

This term we are busy learning about transport. We are learning to label and describe different types of transport and sort them into the categories of air, land and water transport. We have created a class mural and lots of different craft projects that explore a variety of transport.
We have made rockets, pirate ships, shape transport and bulldozers to name a few! We have read lots of wonderful stories about transport and learnt some new songs. The term is coming to an end however we are still very busy consolidating our skills ready for pre-primary next year. Thank you all for such an amazing year!

Personal hygiene
Ensuring children have good hygiene is one way to prevent illness. Here are some tips for helping children maintain good hygiene:
- Wash hands before and after touching food, and after going to the toilet, touching animals or being around someone who is coughing or has a cold.
- Wash body daily and keep hair clean.
- To prevent body odors, change clothes regularly and use deodorant if necessary.
- Change underwear and socks daily, and leave shoes outside to dry.
- To prevent bad breath, brush and floss teeth and visit the dentist regularly.
- If ill, try not to cough or sneeze on others, clean things that you touch, and throw away things with germs on them (like tissues).
Should you require further information about hygiene, contact your local Community Health Nurse, (insert name here) on (insert number here), or go to:

I would also like to let you all know that Michelle and I will be your school nurses again in 2018. Thank you so much for accommodating us in your schools and making us feel part of your school community.
Kind regards
