On Thursday the 27th of October students in room 4 participated in a Robot making day. The day was highly successful with a huge amount of parent and grandparent participation.
Prior to the Robot day students were required to plan, draw and label a diagram of a robot. The diagram had to include the recycled materials students had been collecting from home. They were required to identify and sort the materials into plastic, cardboard, metal and glass. They were then required to instruct their parents to assist them in constructing their robot.
The students were highly engaged in the activity and were all able to take a robot home at the end of the day. Thank you very much for all the assistance from parents and grandparents, we hope you had just as much fun as we did.
Pinjarra Campus
This term the students in room 29 are joining their peers from room 31 for one hour each week. This is to enable them to meet and mix with some of the students they will be classmates with next year. During these sessions students will be completing many interesting activities. During Weeks 2 & 3, students from Room 31 joined room 29 students in room 29. This week students introduced their buddies to a classroom favourite ‘Simons Cat’. After viewing the humorous clip ‘Simons Cat in Hot Water’ the students from both rooms joined together to sequence and verbally retell the story before completing a written retell.

On Friday the 21st October Pinjarra Primary held their annual school Sports Carnival. The students arrived wearing their faction colours creating a sea of red, blue, green and gold. The children in Room 11 have been looking at how to write a Narrative. They were super excited to write their own story about a monster. Here are some photos of our monster story that we created.
Both Room 11 and Room 14 have been lucky enough to participate in the Dockers AFL program for the past two weeks. This was run on a Friday and all the children got to participate in lots of hands on and fun football drills. Thank you to Miss Pimlott for organising this for us.

Fun With Language
Daily reading and the use of ‘wh’ questions- who, what, where, when, why.
Model ‘wh’ questions and how to answer them. Encourage your child to ask you questions.
‘What is happening there?’ ‘They are jumping!’
Talk about the picture on different pages and describe what you think is happening in the story. Let your child have a go. Ask them ‘wh’ questions.
